So yesterday was my birthday and it was one of the best I have ever had!

The day started out with Alyssa and I going to MGM Disney Studios! We rode Rockin' Roller Coaster 3 times in a row in the very front! It was so much fun! We went to this candy shop on Sunset Blvd. at Disney Studios and they gave me a free chocolate covered marshmallow!


After that we took a bus over to Animal Kingdom!

Alyssa smells funny so she had to sit alone on the bus!


We went on Safari so I could visit friends! We rode my friend Laurens!

After that we met up with all my other friends! We went to my favorite show FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING


After Animal Kingdom we went back to my apartment and had cake! My friends made me an awesome Lion King cake!


After a little cake we went to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and ate dinner at Boma! It was so good. Its an African Buffet. My favorite thing to eat there is the Pumpkin and Apple soup and the Salmon with coconut sauce on top.





The people at Boma suprised me and brought me out a cupcake!


After dinner we went back to my apartment and watched a movie and opened presents!



I got a lot of Lion King stuff and Kilimanjaro Safari stuff!

I love my friends so much! They are so good to me :) I really missed my family though. At least I get to go visit them in a few weeks! I am going back home to visit on April 20, 21, 22,23! I can't wait!

Im so happy! I really am sooo happy! Ive never felt this amazing and I have never had such amazing friends! I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY JOB! Its not just the driving around animals in a big truck talking to people that I love... its the company! I really do love it. They really do award you for being a good employee! I now have seven guest service cards! They are these cards coworkers, guests and managers fill out and give you and then you turn them in and they go on your record card. Its just awesome that I finally found a place where excellence is awarded!

I have been spending a LOT of time with my coworkers after work! Its so fun to go to the theme parks in Huge groups. We are like some kind of Safari gang. Sometimes there are groups of like twenty of us and we all go on one ride!

Well life has been very busy as usual! I had four days off because my Mom visited me! It was a lot of fun!!!

We got to do almost every big ride! We rode Safari a few times! It was so exciting getting to show her where I work. We went to every park. Epcot, Disney Studios, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom. On her first day we went to Animal Kingdom and Disney Studios. It wasnt very busy and we didnt have to wait for any rides. The next two days were very busy.




For my early Birthday my mom took me to my favorite resteraunt EVER. BOMA at the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Its an African Buffet that serves AMAZING FOOD! The night we went they had this Pumpkin Apple Sweet Soup and they had the BEST salmon EVER. They also have these things called zebra Domes ... I love them. I dont even know how to describe them... they are a pastry... haha. So that was the best meal I have ever had in my life.

UPDATE!

So life has been crazy as usual. Busy, Busy, Busy!

I had two days off with no class and no work!!!! What did I do? I WENT TO ANIMAL KINGDOM. haha even on my days off I go to work :)

So Shelley and I went on an adventure on our my first day off. First we visited Animal Kingdoms African Lodge. It is the most amazing hotel in the WORLD. the lodge is surrounded by savanah and real animals live there. Giraffes and Zebra just walk around the hotel grounds! Its so amazing.

I want to stay there so bad! I may buy a room for my birthday with my 50% discount and then my friends and I can use the amazing pool and all the cool stuff there!

For my second day off I spent my day with co-workers. Sarah, Christine and Kellie! We went to Magic Kingdom!

Today I worked. It was crazy busy. I had one truck full of asians who didnt speak ANY ENGLISH. They kept standing up and I had to aks them to sit down. If people stand up in the truck I have to stop so they dont fall out!

TONIGHT was the best night EVER! We went to Adventurers Club. I will have pictures from that soon!

Well I am feeling much better. I still have a cold... but thats ok! I worked both days even though I didnt feel great... but it was fine.

So life on safari is great as usual. I had a few families compliment me after my safari and had a lot of applause.
I learned some interesting facts. The whole magic kingdom could fit comfortably in the limits of my ride. Kilimanjaro safari IS THAT BIG!

So the past few days after work and school I have been so tired. All I do is get home, Make something to eat, wash my dishes, clean, take out trash and then call a friend to come over and watch a movie. I miss the nights where we would go out to the theme parks at night... but real life has finally hit and I have lots of work I have to do.... especially since my room mate WILL NOT CLEAN ANYTHING! I even asked if he could vacuum because I didnt want to be late to work the other day and we were going to have inspection soon... and I had just cleaned the entire apartment. Of course I get home and it wasnt clean. But Oh well. Life goes on. Just a few more days til my day off... and a week til my mom gets here to visit.

Yep I am sick and it pretty much is horrible. My whole body aches with fever. Yesterday at work I knew I felt off... and then about halfway through my shift I just started feeling really bad. IM still going to work today. Disney is very strict on sick days. I only get 3 or I am kicked out. I want to save those for other times I am sick ... like throwing up sick.

So life is great! I miss everyone back home a lot! Its been very busy here. I either work or go to class. When I am not doing one of those things I am at a Disney Park!

Today I had the day off. It was AWESOME! My friend Shelley and I decided we wanted to try and go to all four Disney Theme Parks. So we woke up early and headed to Magic Kingdom. We got there and went on Haunted Mansion (Its going into refurbishment soon... so we wanted to ride one more time), Winnie The Poo (Which was very very cool compared to the California one) and a few other rides.








After that we went to Cast Connection ... which is this AMAZING EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT STORE. They sell stuff from the parks at like 50 and 60 percent off. Best part is that its just for cast members.

After that we went to my FAVORITE park and the place that I work at DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM. I still get so excited when I get to Animal Kingdom. Its just so big and the trees are so big and there are animals everywhere and they make the animal habitats look as if they are running wild.



So we walked to Africa because I wanted to ride Safari ... as a guest. I have only been on a few times as a guest. I know that it seems crazy since I drive that thing around about 20 plus times a day. The baby elephant was out and he got himself stuck on a log that he was trying to cross. It was so funny because the mother ( Tunsa I believe her name is) had to use her trunk to pull him up. He is the cutest thing in the world. He is so small and wrinkly.

i walked around and said hello to all my Safari friends. I LOVE my coworkers. Everyone is so friendly.

After that we went to Tusker House Grill. This place is in Africa and it is so authentic looking. It looks just like a African Village. I had THE best Fried Chicken Sandwich.

After Tusker House I went to the Kilimanjaro Safari gift shop and I bought some fun stuff. I try hard to save my money... but its just so fun to have cool stuff from my work... like my new Kilimanjaro safari wallet, backpack, keychain and other stuff.

We went to Asia section of Animal Kingdom and rode Expedition Everest. It is THE best roller coaster ever made.

After that we walked around the park and eventually decided it was time to hit the next park.

Next up was Disney MGM studios. We saw my friend Leah there. She is so funny and nice. She is room mates with a few of my safari coworkers.

We walked around the studios and went on Tower of Terror. Tower of Terror is so much fun. Shelley and I decided we wanted to take a really funny picture so we both pretended to act really scared.

We got to Epcot and Shelley HAD to ride "Journey into Imagination"... this ride about a purple dragon who teaches people to use their imaginations. Its cute... but the Dragon freaks me out a little bit. His name is figment and he is just a little ADHD.

After that we went to THE SEAS and rode nemo. Its such a fun little ride. After that I really wanted to see the manatee so we waited twenty minutes and got to see one eat his dinner.

We walked around Epcot and saw a friend of ours named stevie. We decided to have a pastry in France. I ordered mine in French. I had a Pain au Chocolate. It was really great. The French Pavillion at Epcot looks JUST LIKE the real thing. The place we sat down at to eat our pastry looked JUST LIKE the street our Hotel was on in Paris... even the Eiffel Tower was there.

So after hours of theme parks we decided it was time to head home... just one quick stop at walmart. I needed to buy a heating pad for my back... The Safari truck is fun to drive... but hurts your back after a little while... I also needed a lamp for my living room and some groceries.

Tomorrow I am going to sleep in, vacuum my apartment, Fold clothes and other fun house chores. After that I am going to Animal Kingdom to watch Festival of the Lion King ... which is supposed to be the most amazing show at Disney because it is all live singing and there are fire breathers and all sorts of cool stuff. After that we are going to a local rodeo. A lot of my coworkers are southern and love that stuff and invited me along! I will update more tomorrow.

So I worked 10 hours today! It was fun! I love it!

Today I had this little boy. He looked and reminded me OF ME when I was little. He was all skinny and blonde and LOVED ANIMALS. His mom reminded me of my mom when I was little and how she would take me to all these zoos and how I wanted to be a zookeeper. So I made this kid my honorary safari assistant. I had him point out all the animals for me! I love Disney.

I am having a great time with my friends! Everyone is so awesome! Thed other night we went to SCI FI drive in. It's a Disney restaurant where you sit in these fake cars that are actually tables. Your waiter rides around on skates. It was so fun. They played scary sci fi movies on the big screen.

Tonight we went to Bubba Gumps. The one here in orlando is REALLY small compared to the one in Maui. Bubba Gump is at Universal so we felt like traitors.

Tomorrow is another great day at work!!!!

I love you all and miss you like crazy. My mom comes in like 3 weeks! I wish my Dad was coming too ... but I will see him soon!

Well work is the same! I still love it! I was in a truck all day. sometimes you get lucky and you get to work a LAND position which is like FASTPASS or the person who helps you into the truck. No lands for me :( Oh well. So this week has been crazy. TWO OF THE MOST ANNOYING GROUPS OF PEOPLE ON EARTH had conventions here at Disney this week. BRAZILIANS and CHEER LEADERS ... correction, not just cheerleaders ... southern cheerleaders. The ones who have big obnoxious stage mothers who enjoy pushing around Disney employees. :) Brazilians dont mean to be annoying ... they just are. They dont talk, they SCREAM. And they push other guests ... cut in line ... spit on the floor... pee in the bushes at safari.

Yesterday I went to EPCOT and we shopped at all the different places. I love the GERMANY Shop because they have Chocolate covered GumiBaren and Heinscrutle. I got a little Germany flag.

THANK YOU to all my friends and family who sent me cards. THEY REALLY REALLY MADE MY DAY SO MUCH BETTER! There is NOTHING better than getting a letter or card in the mail after a long day at work. I am homesick. I kept saying I wanted to leave home SO BAD. Now I realize that I have the best family in the whole world and I miss them!

So as you know I work in AFRICA at Disney's Animal Kingdom. It is amazing, the detail is awesome! Real Africans come to work there. The village is called Harambe. I work at Harambe Wildlife reserve and I drive the Kilimanjaro safari truck. I love my job so much because it is fun to be in character. If people ask where I am from I tell them I am from California but I just recently moved to Harambe to work at the reserve.

The place was huge.... AND CREEPY

No one spoke English

There were these fake BILL COSBY stand ups all over the place.

I tried making a Bill cosby "pudding" joke and the lady taking my order had no idea what I was talking about.

I Have class tomorrow and I have weds off!!!!!!

I love my Disney Life. I go to a theme Park almost every day! I love that I can get to Magic Kingdom in 5 minutes and go for just one hour... when everyone else there goes and spends the whoel day because they only have a few hours!

Sorry I have not been updating. TIME GOES BY SO FAST HERE!!!! Everything is GREAT! I had a few days last week and yesterday that I was really really homesick and not feeling comfortable at work... but today was a good day. Its fun working in Africa... sometimes I forget its fake. I miss Home so so so much though. Today I was at work and I saw this little baby and it made me think of SIERRA a little girl I used to babysit... Lyla if you are reading I miss Sierra and Sammy so much! I have never been so active in my life. I usually work or go to school 8 hours a day and then right after that I go with friends out to dinner or to the theme parks. I have rode almost every ride here. Florida is an awesome place. I am really comfortable with the Freeways and roads. It used to take me 30 mins to get to work ... but now that I know how to use the freeways I get there in 10 minutes. I really love my friends! Everyone is a lot of fun!

So its official I have EARNED MY EARS! Here at Disney when you are new you have to wear a little red ribbon that says EARNING MY EARS! Well today I passed my test and now I am officially a Safari Driver!!!!

I was really unhappy the other day because I was having a really hard time driving the giant truck and learning my lines.

But today was amazing!!!! I got in a truck and had it ready to take out on the safari track in like 15 minutes! You have to clean the seats on the truck, check for safety stuff and get the microphone working properly.

On my second round my trainer snuck a manager on my safari. I didnt notice he was a manager until about half way through. When we finished the safari he told me that this was my assesment to see if I could actually be a safari driver full time! I PASSED! The only mistake I made I made because I WAS NERVOUS. I called a greater flamingo a Pattersons Eland... big deal haha Elands are only the largest Antelope in Africa, with mature males weighing up to 2,000 pounds! Sorry, I have a lot of Animal facts that I have memorized.

I drive around the safari all day with 38 guests in each truck and when I see an animal... lets say a Gazelle I give a little fact about gazelle such as ... although it may look like a baby it is fully grown at 60 pounds!~

I REALLY love work now! It went from me dreading having to get on the truck... to me loving it.

Animal Kingdom is the most amazing thing you will ever see in your life. NO JOKE! Each land looks sooo authentic... like Africa... it looks just like an african village... complete with real african workers.

Today after work I was so happy. Kellie (the girl I have been raining with) and I walked around the empty park after it closed. It was sooo awesome!!!! We talked about how much we loved the girl who trained us (Tammy). She is from oregon and she is awesome!!!! Everyone at DAK (Disneys Animal Kingdom) are nice!!!!

Yesterday (Saturday) was my first day off!!!!!! WE SPENT THE WHOLE DAY AT THE PARKS!!! We went to Magic Kingdom and rode all sorts of rides.... MY FAVORITE WAS STITCH!!!!!! I love stitch sooo much!!!! He is my favorite character.

I have the best friends EVER! I have great friends back in Redding.... but my Florida friends ... they are so loyal and nice! I miss everyone back home a lot though! I was really homesick yesterday. I called home and was pretty much having a horrible day. We like to drive around Orlando and Listen/ sing Blondie and Billy Joel!

Jambo! Here in Africa we dont say hello, we say Jambo! Sorry I have not been updating my journal! I have had the most amazing week EVER. I started my job at Kilimanjaro Safari and on my first day they had me driving the truck. This truck is soooo huge!!! There are like 9 rows and each row fits 5 people. The path for the truck winds in and out of the Ituri Forest and the savanah.

Today (WEDS) Was my first day having a truck with guests in it!!!! I had to learn a huge script of what to said plus had to memorize facts about like 50 animals that live in the Kilimanjaro safari. I drive the huge truck through winding paths .... which is pretty much impossible and point out animals all over the place plus talk about the savanah.

I work with pretty much the coolest people ever. Today after work we rode Dinosaur- pretty much the coolest ride EVER! You go back in time and chase around dinosaurs and stuff.

I have been so busy. Busier than I think I have ever been in my life. I checked into the Disney College Program on thew 17th. I finally finished unpacking today! Its been no stop fun!

On Check in day I got up at 6:00 and then went to Vista Way (Which is where you check in to get your apartment number and stuff). I got the apartment size (1 bedroom , 1 room mate) that I wanted! The apartment is AWESOME. Its really big and has an AMAZING AIR CONDITIONER!

Day two I had to get up early again to find out where I work! I was sooo nervous. I got the ride I wanted!!!!! I am going to be a SAFARI JEEP DRIVER at Kilimanjaro Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom!!!! I will be driving a huge Jeep that seats something like 30 people in it around a huge Savanah. Disney created this ride to make it seem like you are actually on an african safari. Im a little nervous because I have to drive a HUGE jeep and its not on a track.... But I will be fine

So yesterday was Traditions!
Traditions is a 4 hour program that Disney uses to teach employees the "Disney" Way. It really is amazing how many companies Disney owns! The program was hosted by two AMAZING Disney managers! They were so friendly! I could totally see myself doing that! We watched movies about the History of Disney and all of that great stuff! I LOVE This Company!!!!

Every Single Upper Management or Adult Disney Castmember that I have met here so far has been SO FRIENDLY! Its so amazing to see a group of individuals who love their job and love seeing new faces!

I have chnaged so much in just a few days. I start talking to people I dont know ( which has helped me meet a LOT of new friends)

That night we went to DISNEY QUEST. Its a four story Arcade at Down Town Disney.


Last night was really fun! I went to MAGIC KINGDOM FOR THE FIRST TIME! It was sooo amazing. We only went for an hour or so to Ride Haunted Mansion. We ate at a great Burger place and then watched the fireworks!
I noticed when we were walking in the crowd that a lot of the families here you could see the parents crying. Its like the thought of the whole family being together watching THE MOST AMAZING AND LONG fireworks show on earth brings tears to their eyes. This is such a special and amazing place! We went to Downtown Disney after that and bought stuff with our Cats member discount. Im not sure I am supposed to say how much it is... but I will say it saved me 40 bucks!!!

Today (Saturday) was interesting. Alyssa, Stefi and I went to Target to buy groceries. My room mate Jaime was at work so I just got his stuff for him and he paid me back.
We ended up buying a TON of groceries and forgot that we drove alyssa's care and there wasnt enough room. We called Shelley and she came and picked us up! OH CALIFORNIA PEOPLE - THEY HAVE A WHOLE SECTION AT SUPERMARKETS HERE FOR GRITS!!!!

New stuff about me -

I looove CHICK-FIL-A. Its this restaurant that sells just Chicken stuff. Their Chicken Nuggets are amazing!!!! There is this sandwich shop called Earl Of Sandwich and it is the best thing ever! I had a Cheese sandwich. It has three cheeses, bacon, tomato, herbs and all sorts of good stuff. Its like something my Aunt Marilyn would make!

So, thats it for now!!!! I am going to that fun party at the Disney resort and need to go change into my pirate costume! Pictures from that will be posted tomorrow!!!!

Oh an P.S. If you get a phone call from me and I talk with a southern accent its not my fault... all my friends have accents and I am around them 24/7. I say Y'all ALL THE TIME now!

Just a couple of days!!! I leave Sunday Night.

I have been very busy. last week I shipped a few boxes of clothes/ shoes / books to Florida. Also, we drove to Sacramento to give my car to the company that is shipping my car to Orlando. It was really sad. I am not going to see my space ship for a week!!!!!!

I said my goodbyes to my Aunt Marilyn & Uncle Bob. It was really sad. When I got in the car it hit me that I may not see them in MONTHS!

I visited the Maritnez family today. I took the kids to see "Happily N'ever After". It was really funny.Next we went to Chuck E Cheese. After that we met up with their parents and went to Dinner! It was great! I am going to miss them a lot! They are such a kind and caring family and their support means so much to me. Ryan is going to draw me a picture so I can take it with me and put up in my new apartment!

On Wednesday I am having a going away party/ scavenger party with friends. I cant wait!

So Today marks the 27 Days Til' I move to Florida. It seems like just yesterday I was accepted and started meeting people online who I will work / live with. I have GREAT friends... I cant wait to "Real life" meet everyone... no more messaging online! I am getting a little nervous but thats mostly because I know I am really going to miss my Grandma and my Aunt Marilyn and all the rest of my family. I hope there is some way I can see my cousins and family who live in Southern California before I leave. I miss them like crazy.

So on Saturday my family went to my grandparents house in Red Bluff for a Christmas party/ going away party! It was really great! Everyone pinned money on a Mickey Mouse doll. Thank You anyone reading who was there and thanks for your support and gifts!!! I have to hide the money from myself so I have it when I get to Florida!

So in 27 days I still have to

Finish my finals at School (Will be done with by weds)
Visit : All my family , Madame, Michelle , The Martinez family (I miss them already) , and pretty much everyone
Pack my clothes
Pack all my stuff
Buy some new dress clothes
Get photos developed and buy some frames
Confirm our Air Fare
Figure out which company is shipping my car
Shop for Christmas
Buy new glasses

and a ton more stuff including a Going Away / 80's Dance party


I know I have not written much yet ... I swear that will change once I get to Florida and have interesting stuff to talk about :)

Just a few more months! Life is great right now. I am really excited because I have some awesome friends that I have made who are going to be doing the program the same time I am! Analisa, Joanna, Danielle, Shelley, Sandy, Brittany, Dan, Jamie and everyone else are amazing! A few of us created a fun game to play while we wait for January. We are sending out a box and each person who gets the box who is on the address list gets the box and gets to add fun stuff for other people who are on the list. Joanna and I are going to see Christina Aguleria and Justin Timberlake while we are in Florida along with Shelley and whoever else likes that music!

I was accepted!!! A few weeks ago I got a call from my Disney College Recruiter Michelle and she told me the good news! She was so friendly. She gave me the great news that I was accepted for Spring 07 Advantage program and will be working in the role of Operations. I get to work at Disney World!!! I can't believe that in three months time I will be living at Disney World! I have already met a few amazing people online! Analisa, Danielle, Shelly, Sandy, Joanna, Dan, Brittany and everyone else!
